H2O

Water is used to dissolve sodium hydroxide (lye) so it can react with the oils and start the saponification process. This is the process that creates soap. As the soap cures, the water evaporates and creates harder longer-lasting bars.

Sodium hydroxide (Lye)

Sodium hydroxide is an essential ingredient used in the soapmaking process and is generally referred to as lye. The lye water mixture allows the oils in the soap to emulsify with the water to create soap.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil can soothe, heal, moisturize and revitalize your skin. It has prominent anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-pathogenic, and anti-microbial properties.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is a humectant that attracts moisture to your skin. Castor oil is made up of the fatty acids ricinoleic, oleic and linoleic. In addition to moisturizing and nourishing skin, and creates a nice lather.

Cocoa Butter

Cocoa Butter is a great moisturizer to help prevent dry, rough, scaly, itchy skin and minor skin irritations. Cocoa butter also has a high concentration of antioxidants, which help fight off free-radical damage to the skin. Free radicals are the main cause of dullness, dark patches, and aging of the skin.

 

Sweet Almond Oil

Sweet Almond Oil produces a rich conditioning lather. It is high in Vitamins E, A, D, Oleic, and Linoleic fatty acids. It is optimal for soothing dry, flaky and irritated skin. It is said to be beneficial for skin conditions like rashes, psoriasis, and eczema.

Olive Oil

Olive oil absorbs deep into the pores providing a great option for clearing the skin of environmental toxins. Regular topical use of olive oil keeps your skin glowing and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

Shea Butter

Shea Butter soap is gentle for all types of skin. It’s also a great moisturizer and can be used to treat dry skin conditions such as eczema. Shea butter soap can help in the prevention of acne by helping the new equilibrium of the skin’s oils be restored. It also reduces inflammation as it triggers cytokines and other inflammatory cells to slow their production.

Fragrance Oil

Fragrance oils are also known as aroma oils, aromatic oils, and flavor oils. All products used with premium fragrances are completely phthalate and paraben free.

Clay

There are several different types of clays, however, they absorb excess oils, dirt, and harmful toxins from the skin, purifying and cleansing the skin while gently exfoliating removing old skin, and providing deep cleaning of pores. They also are a natural form of coloring for cold processed soaps.
